Become a Cadet

The Naval Sea Cadet Corps (NSCC) is for American youth ages 11-17 who have a desire to learn about the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Merchant Marine. The objectives of the Sea Cadet program are to introduce youth to naval life, to develop in them a sense of pride, patriotism, courage, and self-reliance, and to maintain an environment free of drugs and gangs.

Each cadets application is individually reviewed. It is asked that each cadet ensure they meet all of the following eligibility requirements...

Eligibility Requirements

    · Be between the ages of 11 and 17.

    · Must be a US Citizen

    · Be in good health and pass a qualifying physical examination.

    · Be a full time student and maintain satisfactory grades (2.00 "C" grade point average).

    · Be free of felony convictions.

The next step in joining the NSCC is to attend an informational meeting. Greensboro Division every soo often will hold an information meeting for prospective new cadets and their parents. This is your chance to ask questions about the program, get to know a few cadets and our officers, and be your first step to joining the adventure of a lifetime. Once you have attended the informational meeting, you will recieve your application packet. You can take it home and complete your application and obtain your medical exam. Once you have completed your application packet and your medical exam, you'll join us for your first drill weekend! The enrollment cost for a new cadet is currently $100.
